    1 banner - white leather trimmed with silk border with tassels at bottom corners. Leather is backed with linen. 2 etched crests are printed on banner. - 41.5 x 33 cm.

  • Signatures / Inscriptions

    Etched above large crest "Sydney Total Abstinence Benefit Society/Established Jan.y 4th 1841". Above crest is etched "Advance Australia". At left is etched "Sobriety"; at right "Domestic Comfort". At bottom of banner is etched "In God is our trust" and "Be thou faithful unto death". At top of banner above small crest is etched "Australian Total Abstinence Society/Established Sept. 1st 1838". At left of this crest is etched "Sobriety"; at right "Domestic comfort". At bottom is etched "In God is our trust". Underneath it is etched "I agree to abstain from intoxicating Drinks Except taken as Medicine or at the Sacrament".
