  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Mrs Redriff was born Jane Pearton in Reading, 20 July 1821. In Reading she married Thomas Frizer 29 July 1843. In 1848 Emma Frizer was born. The couple had four children (1851 UK Census).

    Mrs Redriff and husband Thomas Frizer arrived with all 4 children in Melbourne in April 1853 on a ship called Woodstock. But husband Thomas and 3 of the children, namely Jane, William and Thomas did not go with her, daughter Emma and William Redriff to Sydney in Aug 1856.

    In 1855 she bore a daughter Mary Jane Redriff at Sandhurst, father William Henry Redriff.

    In 1857 she bore another girl Nellie Redriff at Penrith. In 1859 Walter Redriff was born at Sofala. Clara Redriff was born in 1862 at O'Connell Plains near Bathurst but she died in 1869 in Bathurst. Mary Jane Redriff married Henry Foote in Hill End in 1874. Mrs Redriff died in Sydney in 1905

    Redriff worked as a carpenter, miner and farmer in his life. In Hill End he worked as a carpenter
