    Probably the most prominent member of the Wallace family was Arthur Cooper Wallace, better known as A.C. Johnny Wallace (1900-75). He excelled at Rugby Union and toured New Zealand in 1921 with the N.S.W. team as a winger. Awarded a Rhodes scholarship in 1922 he studied law at Oxford and played nine tests for Scotland. In 1927-28 he captained the famous N.S.W. Waratahs team which toured Britain and France, defeating Ireland, Wales and France. In later years he coached successful N.S.W. and Australian teams.
