  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Ray Parer served in the Australian Flying Corps during World War I. In 1919 he and John McIntosh entered the Australian Government's air race from England to Australia. However before they were ready to leave the race had been won by Ross and Keith Smith. Nevertheless on 8 Jan. 1920 they still set out and after many amazing adventures finally arrived in Darwin 208 days later.
