  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Quong Tart was one of the early Chinese settlers who came to Australia in 1859. He imported tea from Canton and opened tea rooms in Sydney, and was highly respected throughout the community. In 1902, he was robbed and beaten in his office. He died as a result of the injuries the following year.
