  Related pencil drawing, "Sydney from the Lighthouse Feby. 3./36--', title and date lower right, notes on colouring upper left, position of 'Bradley's Head' marked centre, presented by Col. A.E. Knox, Sydney, Feb. 1960 (PXC 971, f. 1).
  Martens' Account book (Dixson Library DL MS 142) lists on 12 Feb. 1836 'Port Jackson from Lighthouse Col. Breton 10.10.0'.
  A drawing from South Head Road nearby, 'Lighthouse & N. Head Sydney Feby 3./36--', (DL PX 24, f. 24), was used for a watercolour titled on reverse 'Near Watsons Bay', (DGSV*/Sp.Coll./Martens/8). It is forms a pair with 'South Head. Botany Bay May 22./36' (DGSV*/Sp.Coll./Martens/7, preliminary drawing (DL PX 24, f. 26).
