    Letters, mostly to Mrs John Robertson ('Babs' or 'Mrs Jack') from enlisted men formerly employed at Toganmain, neighbours and others. Includes letters from Mesopotamia, Egypt, Belgium, France and Gallipoli containing information about the conditions, battle methodology and technology including bombs, zeppelins, aeroplanes and air raids. Describe events experienced, leave, London and Paris during the war, descriptions of the countryside, and conditions in the mud and trenches.

    Includes one WWII letter: from Hector Forsayth on active service in Syria, 1941 (Item 18).
