• ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
  
  Henrietta Villa, built between 1816 and 1822, was the property of Captain Piper and most likely designed by Henry Kitchen. The house was named after Mrs Macquarie and became a symbol of progress in the colony. • Scope and Content
  1 watercolour drawing of Elizabeth Henrietta Villa by Richard Read, Junior. Drawn in March 1820 the image shows the villa situated on Point Piper, Sydney Harbour. There are several groups of men and women around the villa, 2 of the men are in military uniform, and several men on the foreshore with 2 boats. The villa is surrounded by forest and there 3 plots of land in agriculture use.
