  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Reginald G. Johnson was an Australian photographer active from at least the 1920s. He had a studio at 24 Bond Street, Sydney, was reported in several newspapers in 1931 for motoring into the Burragorang and Kowlining Valleys in New South Wales, and travelled to Europe and the United States researching photographic methods. During the 1950s, he was the Director of Scientific Photography at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

    6 photographic prints taken by Reginald Johnson of the Amos and Johnson families holidaying in Burragorang Valley, New South Wales, prior to its redevelopment for the construction of Warragamba Dam. Photos depict horse-riding, camping, cooking, listening to music on a gramophone and driving through creeks. 1 photographic print taken by John William Amos of a family picnic in Austinmer including Olympic racewalker Ernie Austen and his wife.
