Ken Searle was born in 1951 and grew up around Cooks River. A self-taught artist, he began exhibiting his paintings and drawings in the mid-1970s and, among others, held 20 solo exhibitions at the Watters Gallery, Sydney. His works typically depict suburban and industrial areas of Australian cities including Sydney, Adelaide, Ballarat, Geelong and Broken Hill.

- Scope and ContentWatercolour, acrylic and coloured pencil work in 4 sheets depicting the Kyeemagh Market Gardens on Occupation Road, Kyeemagh. This State heritage-listed site is a rare example of a Sydney market garden which is still active and supplying produce. The 4 panels join to create one panoramic image looking south-east directly across the garden towards Occupation Road.
