Thomas Frederick Furber (1855-1924), was the son of Augustus Frederick Furber and Marry Ann Forwood (nee Bartlett). He became a licensed surveyor in 1875 and became draftsman in charge of the General Survey of the Colony in 1880 and was appointed chief computer in 1890. Furber was appointed director of trigonometric surveys and metropolitan district surveyor in 1904. He was a founding member of the New South Wales Institution of Surveyors and elected an honorary member upon his retirement in 1904.

Edward Ebsworth (1853-1925), was a surveyor for the New South wales Lands Department for over 40 years until his retirement in 1919. He held positions as a metropolitan staff surveyor, district surveyor and Chairman of the Land Board in Grafton and Orange, New South Wales.

Sir Henry Parkes was a politician and journalist. He was Premier of New South Wales five times between 1872 and 1891.

Victor Albert George Child-Villiers was the 7th Earl of Jersey and Governor of New South Wales, 1892-1893

Archibald Primrose was the 5th Earl of Rosebery and was the Under Secretary at the Home Office, 1881-1883. He then travelled the world and made a celebrated speech in Australia announcing, "the British Empire is a Commonwealth of Nations". He later became a prime minister of the United Kingdom from 1894-1895.
