Merlin Theodore Hansen (1908-1992) was a businessman and pioneer of the New South Wales timber industry. His father, Bernard Hansen, founded the National Box Company Pty Ltd in Sydney, whereby Merlin Hansen started his career. Hansen expanded the business, establishing timber mills and plantations at Batlow, New South Wales, supplying and manufacturing plywood, and growing the business through numerous mergers. Hansen also undertook management and directorships in numerous businesses including the Board of Development Finance Corporation Ltd, and real estate developer RDC Ltd.
