  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

The Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, or Plast Ukrainian Scout Organisation, was established in Western Ukraine in 1911 by Dr. Oleksandr Tysovsky and spread, along with Ukrainian migrants, to countries such as the United States, Canada and Australia (1949) and had its first meeting in Sydney in 1951.
The Plast Association aims to encourage the ‘core values of service to God, country and community while also facilitating the holistic self-development of young people in a supportive, fun, challenging and patriotic environment.’
The Association is non-denominational and open to all ages. Programs include camping, hikes and other activities designed to challenge members to extend themselves and look for new ways to use their skills to serve others and the wider community, including the Ukraine.
