  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    James George Tedder was born in London in 1862 and came to Australia in 1880. After entering the service of the Postmaster-General, Tedder served in the South African War with the 2nd Mounted Rifles, and was three times mentioned in despatches. When war broke out
    in 1914 he joined the divisional train of the Army Service Corps and achieved the rank of Colonel.
