    Henrietta 'Jennie' Woods was a descendent of Captain Joseph Moor who arrived in Australia in 1847. In memory of her ancestor and other master mariners, Mrs Woods organised the laying of a plaque at the Overseas Terminal, Circular Quay, Sydney, in 1992.

  • Scope and Content
    A collection of three folders of correpondence, clippings and research material assembled by Jennie Woods regarding Australia's master mariners and the erection of a memorial plaque in their honour. The papers were used in the collation of her book, 'Our master mariners : a select biographical dictionary of sea captains who have sailed in Australian waters over 150 years from 1788-1938' (1992), 1988-1992. Also includes an inscribed copy of the completed publication.
