    Item 01
    Diary relating to the First World War service of Clementine Marshall, Australian Army Nursing Service. The diary, kept between 17 October 1914 and 30 August 1917, details her journey across the Indian ocean on the first convoy of Anzac soldiers towards England through the Suez Canal on board troopship SS Argyllshire, through Egypt and the Mediterranean sea on HS Secilia, towards Gallipoli during the German/Turkish bombings on the hospital ship Gascon, through the Dardenelles caring for wounded soldiers at the hospital base. Noteably, it includes an account of her experiences during the Gallipoli campaign with a long entry for the landing on 25 April 1914 and a hand drawn map. It also includes notes about troop movements and actions and soldiers injuries in Egypt, Greece, Malta, Ismailia, Alexandria, London, Wandsworth, Harefield and Wimereux, France and tours around the Mediterranean. The diary also covers later travels through war torn Europe in various war hospitals in England, Scotland and Wales and then though the battle zones of France, Boulogne Wimereux.
