    Dr Margaret Leask is an oral historian and theatre historian, researcher and writer. She was commissioned by the Moulton's daughter, Tiffany Moulton, to conduct the interviews.

    John Moulton was born in New Zealand in 1942 and came to Australia in 1961. After working for JC Williamsons as a stage manager, he joined the Australian Ballet company in 1962. He was stage manager and then stage director with the company until 1973 when he went to the Sydney Opera House as Assistant then Deputy Technical Manager. He worked freelance on several World Expos abroad and with promoters Michael Edgley and A.C. P. He was Operations Manager for the Sydney Festival between 1982 and 1994, during which time he was also Deputy Director of Special Events NSW for the Australian Bicentennial (1986-88). His success with this project led to the award of his OAM. In 1998 he joined Opera Australia as Technical Director until 2002. He died in 2014.

    Kathleen Geldard was born in Sydney in 1940. After winning a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School she trained in London and danced with the Royal Ballet. She returned to Australia in 1962 to become a soloist and then principal artist with the Australian Ballet. She toured nationally and internationally with the Australian Ballet, marrying John Moulton, the company stage manager in 1963. She retired in 1970 to have a family, but returned as a guest artist with the company in 1972, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2010. She has taught ballet, designed and made tutus and been a member of the committee of The Society of Dance Arts which raises funds for scholarships for young dancers
