  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Henry William Meggitt (1852-1928) migrated to Australia in 1895. He was involved in the linseed oil business in England, and his son Harold Meggitt (1881-1949) pioneered the linseed oil industry in Australia.

    Henry was married to Annie Mary Meggitt (nee Grey/Gray). They had two sons, Harold (1881-1949) and Arthur Cecil (1878-1947), and two daughters, Kate Phyllis (1879-1916) and Dorothy (1884-?).

  • Scope and Content
    A collection of 16 black and white photographs, genealogical tables, correspondence, and clippings regarding the Meggitt family, and the history of Meggitt Limited and Unilever Australia, ca. 1870-ca. 2001. Includes a copy of 'Meggitt... the growth of an industry' / Meggitt Limited, [1973?].
