Typescript translations into English of letters by Leichhardt to relatives and friends in Germany. Translated by L. L. Politzer of Melbourne by authority of the original publishers, the Geographical Society of Hamburg. Comprises 18 letters, mostly to his family (pages 1-53). Letters are written at locations including Sydney, Newcastle, Moreton Bay, Darling Downs and on board the "Heroine" en route from Java to Sydney; addressed to Leichhardt's brother-in-law, mother and sister.
