The diary covers the period May 1887-January 1897 in Tonga and Samoa. A descriptive note by Mitchell Library officer is filed with the diary. Also with it are two photographs showing displays of island curios probably those presented by Mrs David to Sonderhausen, Germany (one display includes her portrait), a visiting card of George Taufu Ahau, prince of Tonga and an invitation card to celebrate the wedding of Chief Tamasese
