    "... Lord Belmore is depicted in his buggy, outside the Hall Door of Government House, Sydney. He used this buggy a great deal whilst in New South Wales, especially in visiting parts of the country where there were no railways. When he returned home he took it with him, as he thought it very light & convenient, had it altered into a wagonette, and constantly drove Lady Belmore, his family & visitors in it, in the hilly country round his home at Castlecoole [i.e. Castle Coole] in County Fermanagh, Ireland. The carriage is still at Castlecoole & has been used in the last 20 years." ... extract from handwritten biographical note by Violet Lowry-Corry, 29 January 1941, attached to the reverse of the photograph
