The Town Planning Association of New South Wales was established in 1913 with Sir John Sulman as its foundation President. Its aims were to promote town planning in respect of badly arranged sections of older towns and in new developments, to work for improvement of civic architecture, planning of streets, housing and sanitation, to educate public opinion and to advocate legislation which would facilitate the Association's aims. The Association helped secure the introduction of the town planning section of the Local Government Act, 1919, assisted the government in finding the correct location for the Circular Quay Railway Station and secured areas for parks and playgrounds in Sydney, including the large recreation reserve around Middle Harbour - Scope and ContentIncludes the constitution, ca. 1913, minutes, 1919-1924, the President's reports to Council, 1922, copies of correspondence, 1922, balance sheet, 1922 and a resume of the Association's work to date, Mar. 1923. The minutes are signed by the President, Sir John Sulman
