Edward Robertson was born at Croydon, Queensland in 1905. He left school at the age of fourteen to work as a stockman on a property in Western Queensland. He subsequently held a variety of positions including drover, fence-builder and dairyman. He wrote a number of bush poems, some of which have been published in newspapers and magazines.
