• ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
  
  Edward Richards (Ted Richards) began his professional photographic career in the late 1950s as an apprentice in a general studio. In 1962 he moved to the Photographic Unit of the John Curtin School of Medical Research at the Australian National University in Canberra. In 1967 he became a commercial photographer working for the Herald and Weekly Times group of newspapers, lifestyle magazines, and for the building industry. He worked as a commercial photographer until the late 1980s. Between 2001 and 2007 he was employed by the Photographic Unit at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
  
  Between 1965 and 1967, Richards took photographs during his holiday breaks mainly in Sydney.

• Scope and Content
  This photographic collection chiefly of views of Sydney and the Blue Mountains, 1965 to 1967, comprises 85 photographic prints and 138 digital copies of original negatives. The photographic prints were printed between ca. 1965 to 1967, and the original negatives were digitally copied by the photographer in ca. 2010.
