    A. D. Gordon, a chemist's assistant of Watsons Bay, Sydney was born in Cooktown, Queensland and enlisted in Sydney aged 26, 25 Aug. 1914. He embarked from Sydney on board Transport A14 Euripides on 20 October 1914 and served as a private in the 1st Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps, 18 Oct. 1914 to Oct. 1915. He was invalided and returned to Sydney on the Karoola, 6 Dec. 1916

    Describes experiences in Mena Hospital, Egypt and on the troopship Benares taking wounded men from Gallipoli
