    1 pocket watch - gold - 7 x 5 cm
  • Scope and Content
    Round watch with hinged cover. A boar's head and the motto 'Vix Ra Nostravoco' are engraved on centre of lid. The markings 'AN', '4725' and '9 18' are inside lid. The trademark 'E. Beckmann London & Sydney' is on upper centre of dial face.

    The inscription on back of mechanism reads 'E. Beckman London & Sydney Patent No. 4725' with the initials 'SF'.

    Removable back cover bears the inscription: 'Presented to David Henry Campbell Esq by the residents of the Lachlan and surrounding Districts In token of their admiration of his courageous conduct in successfully resisting the attack of the Bushrangers Gilbert, O'Mealley and Hall upon his household at Goimbla 19th Novr 1863 on which occasion O'Mealley fell by his hand thereby breaking up one of the most desperate gangs of freebooters who ever infested the Western Districts of New South Wales'.
