    Include journals kept by John Norman Starkey relating to his farm, Carrara, at Avoca, in the Southern Highlands, N.S.W., in the Wingecarribee Shire, including ledgers and farm diaries; and family papers and photographs, 1897-1951.

    12 farm diaries, 1915-1951, giving daily weather of temperature, wind, and rain. John Starkey's work routine and duties on the farm, including deliveries, machinery maintenance, seed planting and harvesting, names of cows and number of calves, number of cows milked each day, eggs collected, visitors to the farm, and leisure activities. Volumes also include listings of books on farming and agriculture as well as other non-fiction and fictional stories. Listings of contact details of names and addresses; and, small transcriptions of quotes, sayings and poems.
