    Titled 'Vue de Sydney'. Signed 'Lauvergne'.
    On back of drawing is inscribed, 'J. Edge, Partington records a lithograph (not represented in his collection) on p. 39 of his Australasian Prints, as follows : 'View of the City of Sydney from the Harbour, with vessels at anchor immediately behind the Fort, by Lauvergne, Lithograph, by Himetey, ca. 1825, 9 x 12 1/2 in.'.
  • Attributions / conjectures

    'This sketch is probably the original of the lithograph and is dated 13 October, 1926'. Signed 'A.W.F. Fuller, 20 January 1933'.
  • Date note

    Dated in ink below the view '13 December 1826'. Below the date in pencil another hand, possibly Captain Fullers, has written '13 October 1826'.
