    The ANZAC memorial was designed by Charles Bruce Dellit, winning first prize in one of the most prestigious architectural competitions of the day. It opened to the public in 1934. (Reference: Sydney architecture / by Graham Jahn. Sydney : Watermark Press, 1997).
