    In the early 1870s Sir John William Ramsden (1831-1914) acquired sugar and rubber estates in Malaya, the previous owner having been his brother-in-law Edward Horsman M.P. After his death his son John F. Ramsden (1877-1958) maintained an interest in the companies

    This collection of records of sugar and rubber estates in Malaya contains letters, reports and balance sheets on the workings of the estates. Correspondence consists mostly of copy letters sent to Sir John W. Ramsden and his son John F. Ramsden
