Committee minutes, 1804-65, of Methodist Missionary Society in London. The minutes are preceded by a copy of a typed list of items of Australasian and South Seas interest, prepared in 1957 by Mrs Alington, of New Zealand. The early minutes record the appointments of the first Methodist preachers to be sent to New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land, discuss their activities in New Zealand, relations with Reverend Samuel Marsden, and their work amongst the Australian Aborigines. The minutes deal also with the Society's work in Tonga, Fiji and at the Swan River settlement in W.A., and record political events in all the Society's areas of influence.
