World Education Fellowship is an international, non-profit and volunteer organisation founded in England as the New Education Fellowship in 1921. It is a clearing house for progressive educational ideas, policy and practices. It has no religious or political affiliation. W.E.F. International Headquarters is in London and there are autonomous worldwide Sections.

The Australian Section was formed in 1937. The N.S.W. Section has conducted a range of activities, including lectures, symposia and parent education courses. It hosted the 1976 W.E.F. International Conference at Macquarie University and, for many years, the annual Creative Arts Summer School. Through its Aboriginal Scholarship Fund, the N.S.W. Section gave educational assistance to Aboriginal students and provided places in the Summer School. The Dwarak Fund provided scholarships for students in India.

During the 1980s Dr Yvonne A. Larsson initiated research into the history of W.E.F. in Australia. The N.S.W. Section celebrated its Diamond Jubilee with a reunion luncheon at Sydney Girls' High School on 25 July 1987.
