  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Government Cottage was built at Port Arthur in 1853 for the use of visiting officials and dignitaries and fell under the control of the Comptroller-General of Convicts.   • General note

    The mention of a Civil Commandant places the manuscript in Port Arthur as this position was abolished in New South Wales by 1860.
    The volume is reversible as it has been used from the front and back.
