  • Scope and Content
    Lists of goods and passengers transported by various vessels, but mainly by the schooner "Harriet". Entries include name of vessel, place of origin, date, nature of goods (government store, private goods, letters), and persons name receiving individual goods. All entries are signed by J. Goenden [or Grenden], wharfinger. Ships include, "Annie", "River Chief", "Venus", "Southern Cross", and "Sappho" from Hobart Town.
  • General note

    It was the duty of the wharfinger to handle the movement of cargo on and off the boats.
    The document does not mention the place of destination of these goods, but all ships originate from Hobart Town.
    The Marine Board of New South Wales was the main maritime agency for the years 1876-1877.
    The volume was rebound into new covers in June 1924.
