  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frederick Earle Winchcombe, Duncan Carson, C. L. Wallis and E. J. Turton formed Winchcombe, Carson & Co, woolbrokers, stock and station agents in 1889.
    In september 1899 the firm was incorporated with a nominal capital of £150,000. Winchcombe, Carson & Co. Ltd became Winchcombe, Carson Ltd in 1910. It owned large woolstores in Wattle Street Pyrmont and became one of the best known pastoral firms eastern Australia with over thirty branches in New South Wales and twenty-five in Queensland.
