Harold Cazneaux was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1878. His family moved to Adelaide in the 1890s and from 1904 he worked in Sydney as a photographer. In 1909 he held his first one man exhibition. His reputation as a photographer rests on the great diversity of his work which included both landscapes and portraits. He died in 1953. - Scope and ContentOriginal draft manuscript of biography of Harold Cazneaux with corrections and additions by Cazneaux's daughter Rainbow Johnson. The manuscript was published in a revised version in 1996 under the title Sunlight and Shadow: The Lifework of Harold Cazneaux.
