Wolfgang Wagner (1904-1969), music critic, came to Australia with his wife and three children in 1939 from Czechoslovakia. He wrote music reviews for several Australian newspapers including: The New Citizen, ABC Weekly, The Sun, The Daily Mirror, "Die Woche"(in German) and The Australian. He also contributed to the London magazine "Opera" and the Australian musical journal "Canon". He died at the age of 65 after a sudden illness.
