The accounts were presented by the Chief Financial Officer to the auditors (mostly Kent, Brierley and Fisher, although some of the subsidiary companies used other auditors) and that the audited accounts were later signed by a director on behalf of the board and a declaration was made by the secretary. Some of the items contain correspondence addressed to the Managing Director. These accounts would be the basis of the annual financial reports presented to the shareholders at the annual general meeting.
