    The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual festival held in Sydney, Australia, with the aim of raising the visibility of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex communities. It is one of the largest such festivals in the world and includes a variety of events including the Parade, a colourful procession of floats and groups in costume.
  • Scope and Content
    38 colour images of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade held on 4 March 2006. The photographs, taken at various points along the parade route including Liverpool Street and Oxford Street, show the current social and political issues reflected in parade floats and participants’ costumes.
