Barbara McGrady is a Gamilaroi Murri yinah (woman) from the north west of NSW and Southern Queensland. A Sydney based photographer, Barbara’s images tell the story of contemporary Aboriginal history through her photographs. A community activist and photographer, Barbara describes herself as a ‘documentarian’ of historical events that are important to Aboriginal culture and people.
She has exhibited in Redfern galleries and the Redfern Community Centre, and her work was featured in the high profile Head On Photo Festival in 2014.

The NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout (or Koori Knockout) has been held annually since 1971. It is one of the biggest Indigenous gatherings in Australia. The 2016 competition was held over five ovals in the Leichhardt area, where over 100 teams from across Australia played.

62 high resolution born digital colour photographs of the 2016 NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout (Koori Knockout) held at Leichhardt Oval. The Junior and Women's competition was held on September 30, Men's competition on October 1-2, and the All finals held October 3. Images show the football players in action on the field and also includes views of the spectators.

Photographs show various teams involved including the Moree Boomerangs, Mungindi Grasshoppers and Mindaribba Women, and special guests eg MP Linda Burney and Uncle Charles “Chicka” Madden.
