A. Papers in the dispute Dumaresq v Bowman over boundaries of Ravensworth Estate and the proceedings in arbitration, described as follows:

1. A sketch map showing portions of the two runs contiguous to Sandy Creek
2. Opinion of Sir W. Macarthur, one of the arbitrators, [1840?] to which is attached a map (ink and watercolour, showing land boundaries along Foy Brook north of Hunter River), a statement by Dr Bowman with sketch map in ink (marked "Dumaresq", "Mitchell", "Saw Pit Creek"), memoranda (31 pages)
3. Correspondence and statements of various persons, Jan-July 1840
4. Letter from Sir William Macarthur to Dr Bowman, 11 Dec 1839, forwarding his memorandum on the statements of Colonel Dumaresq and Dr Bowman, together with observations on Alexander Macleay's remarks; Alexander Macleay's observations on Dr Bowman's statement, and statement by Dr Bowman, followed by correspondence numbered 1-15, 1829-1837 dealing with the disputed boundaries
5. Correspondence between Colonel Dumaresq, Dr Bowman and others, 1833-37, respecting the disputed boundaries

B. Correspondence 1840-1855, respecting claim for a debt of P. I. Pagan to Dr Bowman in payment for sheep purchased in 1840. Includes correspondence between James and William Macarthur, Robert Pringle and Sarah White, continued after the deaths of Dr James Bowman, P. I. Pagan and James White. With notes of hand signed by P. I. Pagan and J. H. Pagan, 1840.
