- Scope and ContentDescribes departing Lark Hill camp for France, going into the dugouts near Poperinge, heavy shelling near Ypres, air raids, hearing of the death of his friend Arthur Brewer who died of wounds, 18 Sept. 1917, being injured by gas attacks and attending an 'Anzac Coves' concert at Steenwerck, 24 Nov. 1917. Diary ends on the morning of a big attack near Bayonvillers, 8 Aug. 1918. Front of diary consists of military instruction notes and morse code
