- Scope and ContentLetter addressed to his mother from an Australian soldier signed "Dave" (probably David Conroy), written from the transport ship Euripides, and Alexandria. Conroy announces his enlistment in the Australian Imperial Expeditionary Force that he joined in Sydney and continues with descriptions of his enlistment, including medical examination, his desire to be a driver of horses, and subsequent placement in the Infantry; basic training; observance of particular Jewish Holy Days; embarkation for Egypt including route taken and number of transports; ship-board life; illness; train journey to Cairo; and personal greetings
