  • Scope and Content
    Includes notes and statistics on geography, topography, climate and meteorology, botany, exploration and indigenous Australians, particularly in New England, including notes about their language, naming of rivers and localities as well as their diet. The volume includes information about gold and gold diggings, cotton growing, lists of settlers and landholders, information about specific farms and sheep runs mainly in New England and surrounding districts as well as general information on sheep farming, cattle grazing and crops and information about agricultural methods and problems and distances between districts. Includes numerous manuscript maps that have been tipped in to the volume, of New England and surrounding regions as well as Southestern Queensland. Watercolour drawings include Aborigines in the New England area, farms - mostly in the New England District, and botanical drawings. Includes detailed indexes to Volumes 1 and 2.
