  By descent from Lady Arden, Margaretta Elizabeth Perceval, through the Arden family, to Lucy Duchess of Egmont. Lucy Duchess of Egmont was the wife of the 7th Earl of Egmont who was also the 4th Baron Arden. The 2nd Baron Arden's wife was Margaretta Elizabeth Perceval, Lewin's patroness, and the Lady Arden to whom Lewin dedicated his first book. Lucy Egmont died in 1932, at which time the 9th Earl auctioned a portion of the family's collection at Eaton Square. Reference: Library correspondence file
