    Lieutenant William Christian Beeken, was born 1st May 1889. The 25 year old draper from Bexley enlisted on 3 September 1914 and was allotted to the 3rd Battalion F Company. The Company embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 20 October 1914. Beeken was wounded in action on 7 May 1915 and subsequently killed in action, 6 August 1915
  • Scope and Content
    Autograph letter signed by William C. Beeken, 2 June 1915, to his family. He writes about the voyage to Gallipoli and the conditions once landed. He writes about an armistice with the Turks to collect their dead and about rations.
    Also included is an autograph letter dated 14 December 1915 from No.4 General Hospital Randwick to his father Mr Beeken (signature indecipherable).
