    Sir Charles William Dixon was born at 1888 at Leeds. He was educated at Clifton and at Balliol College, Oxford and entered the Colonial Office in 1911. He rose to be Assistant Under Secretary of State and retired in 1967

    Relates to the working of the Colonial and Dominions Offices, and to the general constitution of the Commonwealth. Also includes some reminiscences of his personal life
