    G. W. Wynne, b. 1872, a reporter for the Daily Telegraph, Sydney, N.S.W., became a war correspondent with the Australian Naval Contingent, ca.1900-1901. He was a major by 1911 and commanded the Australian Coronation Contingent at the coronation of King George V. His son, Leslie George Wynne, was on the composing staff of the Daily Telegraph and enlisted in 1915, serving with the 13th Battalion. He was a prisoner of war in Germany, ca.1917-1918. He was discharged in 1919
