  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Donald Grant, came to Australia in 1865 as a jackaroo on a sheep station in the Riverina. He then became manager of at Illilawa Station near Hay. He married Elizabeth Clarke and they had seven children - George, Margaret, Hector, Grace, Malcolm, Sutherland and Lois. In 1912 Grant moved to Leeton with Lois and Margaret and became one of the first successful rice growers in the district. The collection includes numerous photographs of Dorothy Greville Cumming who attended Ascham School with Lois and became an actress.
