The photographs contain staff and sections of the factory at Harrington St., Sydney, 1936-1937. There are also scenes of Sydney from the factory roof-top and of the coffee roasting dept. at Atherton Place, The Rocks. Atherton Place is off Playfair St., and the site occupied by the Westpac Museum was formerly Bushell's coffee roasting Dept. About 150 metres away is the present "Bushell Place" corner of George and Hickson Road, Sydney.

There are also scenes taken at 'Kismet', Philip Bushell's home at Wylde St., Potts Point. 'Kismet' was demolished in the 1940s during wartime to mak way for the Garden Island extensions for the Navy.

The photographer, Arthur John Brown, was the first electrical apprentice at Bushells from 10.12.1930 to 10.12.1935. He left the company in 1938.

Bushells Pty. Ltd. was located in The Rocks for over 70 years from 1904 to 1975.
